Installing a hob

Seff and I were called out to install a gas hob and sink in Portsmouth. The kitchen had already been beautifully installed by a company called Jetstone Marble.

The hardest part of this job was finding the location in Portsmouth, we have sat nav in our vans which is a BIG help, but we knew it would take a long time to get there from Brighton so we set off very early.

The sink installation involved cutting small holes in the middle shelf of the sink unit to make room for the trap and wastes.

Installing the hob involved removing the electric oven, installing the hob in accordance with the regulations, and testing the installation. We finished off by providing the customer with a gas safety certificate for the hob and the boiler.

Here I am helping Seff by crawling into the space under the kitchen units where the gas meter was situated. It was a bit of a tight squeeze. For some hob jobs, it would be wonderful to be able to transform into a Hobbit :0)
